Barbara Faye Thompson

In Memory of Barbara Faye Thompson

By Miles Wilson Jr

To my dear mama,

I'm sorry that I disappointed you and caused a great deal of hurt to you. I wasn't there in your time of need. I'm sorry I didn't hear your last words, I wasn't there so you didn't have to pass away alone. I'm sorry and I apologize. I forgive you for all the hurt you caused me from childhood and to my adult years. More than that, I love you and I will never forget the good times and all that you have taught me. You will always be my Queen and I need the world to know that. I need to feel your 63 years of living. You were buried with honor from your first born son. You always told me, son, I don't care that you have a life sentence. Quitting isn't an option! I pray the most high god will give me the strength to honor those courageous words. I will honor you. I miss you and will forever regret the circumstances could not have been better. I hope to see you in my dreams mama, forever my black Queen. Thank you for so much laughter and giving me life.

Your son, M.J.
