Brittany Kittrell
The world lost a beautiful soul on January 19th, 2021. A native of Washington D.C., Brittany Kittrell, 34, was a free spirit who lived by her own rules and moved to her own beat.
A diva in her own right, Brittany loved to buy clothes and makeup. As a young adult, she managed a Red Roof Inn, later moving to New York to study nursing before relocating to Durham, North Carolina, in 2019.
Once in Durham, Brittany worked to turn her life around and sought refuge at her grandmother’s house. But four days after being booked into Durham County Jail, she was found in critical condition in her cell and passed away soon after being transported to Duke Hospital. She tested positive for COVID-19 the day before she died.
Brittany Kittrell is loved tremendously and will be missed deeply. “She was a mom, a sister, and my best friend,” said her sister Terraye Morris, with whom she had an “unbreakable bond,” in an interview with Indy Week.
Brittany’s will to survive will not be overlooked. She lived and will continue to live in our hearts.
