Her name was Renee Scott, we called her Flo. She was the roommate who taught me all the unwritten rules of prison. She was funny, no-nonsense and encouraging. She was a fan of Mary J. Blige and had a photo album filled with Mary J. Blige pictures. Many nights we laughed & cried. Her pain (hip) was so excruciating. But her fear of prison doctors prevented her from seeking treatment. Flo was afraid of breast exams and OB/GYN exams due to sexual trauma. She left a son lil Kenny and her father Pete. She buried her mother from prison. Rest In Peace Flo.
