Morris Davis

in-memoriam.jpg

On May 8, 2020, Morris Davis passed away due to complications from COVID-19. Morris, 70, was a good friend and family member to many. Morris’s brother, Montey Davis, explained that Morris spent much of his time gardening and fishing and enjoyed the simple beauty of the outdoors. Morris had grown up primarily in California and then moved to Arkansas as an adult.

Morris was incarcerated at the Cummins Unit in Arkansas, where COVID-19-related deaths have been steadily on the rise since March. Morris was at the end of a 10 year sentence that had begun in 2010; he had been appealing his case since January. According to his brother, no family member had been informed that Morris was sick until a hospital representative called and asked if they could take Morris off of his ventilator. Morris was later cremated after passing away at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Morris will be remembered for his love and passion for nature. His life will not be forgotten by all those that are close to him.
