Susan Cicala
After being subjected to “horrific conditions” at Northern State Prison in New Jersey, nurse Susan Cicala passed away from the coronavirus on April 4, 2020 at the age of 60.
Susan was a dedicated nurse who spent 38 years as a caregiver and mentor to other nurses. On a memorial site, her former coworker Veronica shared, “As a new nurse in a new prison, Susan made me feel welcomed. She was always willing to lend a hand. She taught me a lot and we connected on our love for all things Disney. She will be missed as she brought magic and joy to our work environment. May she Rest In Peace.”
Susan’s friend Amatullah Muhammad shared on the site, “Thank you Ms. Susan for the care you provided to my husband and countless others at Northern State Prison. Your compassion for others was enormous. May God give you the highest of heavens. God bless your family.”
Susan loved traveling, visiting Disney World, reading and crocheting, and attending events with her family. Her children and her grandson were her pride and joy and she is remembered as a loving and supportive mother and grandmother.
We mourn the loss of Susan, a devoted care worker who was taken too soon.
