Bryant Adell Davis Jr. was born on July 26th, 1993 to parents Bryant Adell Davis Sr. and Anetra Davis in Houston, Texas. Bryant graduated from Westfield High School in 2011 and attended Sam Houston State University, and he later worked at Longhorn Glass Company. As the eldest brother, he often played music with his younger siblings, and he also had a knack for sports, especially football. Bryant tragically passed away far too soon on September 4th, 2020 at the tender age of 27.

The details of Bryant’s death—or lack thereof—contribute to the injustice of his story. After an officer discovered Bryant unconscious in his cell at Harris County Jail in Houston, he was pronounced dead at Ben Taub Hospital. He had exhibited no physical injuries. His death will be investigated by the Houston Police Department, and, although its cause remains unknown, Harris County Sheriff’s Office suspects he was positive for COVID-19. Bryant was the eighth person to lose his life at Harris County Jail since May 2020. Despite his youth, he was tragically unable to survive the pandemic in prison.

Bryant leaves behind two daughters, Nyla Jai Castille-Davis and Skye Aubree Davis. He should have had so much life ahead of him. He is missed and cherished by his family and friends.
